“In
the summertime when the weather is
high, you can stretch right up and
touch the sky. When the weather's
fine,” nowhere is better than
Garlington.
It is summertime and
time for a well overdue newsletter.
A lot has happened since the last
issue of the Garlington Times but
it has all come to fruition. Let me
outline a couple of the things which
are making the Garlington summer a
little brighter...
Firstly, please visit
our new look website. We have made
some fantastic changes to the appearance
as well as the content. Garlington
being the trendy a technologic goliath
that it is has joined the celebs on
Twitter, follow our progress it will
bring a smile to your face –
money back guaranteed!

The gym has been equipped
with top of the range Genesis &
Johnson equipment and will open on
Monday. This much anticipated facility
is a milestone in the estates development
and together with the indoor pool,
driving range (which is being manicured
into a playable condition), tennis
courts and everything else that Garlington
has to offer is truly creating an
estate apart from all others.

The gym facility will
have a resident Physiotherapist based
in the attached office. Kate March
will be establishing her practice
there and will be offering a full
range of services and is particularly
excited about making use of the pool
for Aqua Therapy. Dr Melissa Neilson
will also be setting up her chiropractic
practice is the building opposite
the coffee shop; she already has a
loyal following and will do well at
Garlington. No one can deny that being
a resident at Garlington is good for
your health. You can find both of
these professionals’ details
on the website http://www.garlington.co.za/gymnasium.htm.
The spotlight was
on Garlington when we hosted the Witness
Gracious Living Expo a while ago.
All the stops were pulled out with
even the weather playing ball and
Jaguar supplying us with an estate
car for the duration of the event.
The designers and exhibitors outdid
themselves with some amazing creative
displays which certainly blew me away.
The event provided the estate with
valuable exposure bringing a large
variety of people through the estate,
people who didn’t know about
the estate but will now, we are sure,
never forget it.
Another thing to wow
about is the telephone system which
has all but been resolved with Victor
Hellberg in particular putting a huge
amount of time and effort into the
project to come up with a tailored
fibre optic solution provided by Atec
and Triple Play which is ideal for
the estate and which I am sure will
be ushered through the special general
meeting with much fanfare.
The Homeowners Association
has moved into its new residence in
Unit 1 of the Apartments, they have
been tastefully decorated and come
complete with an impressive boardroom
which is available to residents for
a nominal fee should they want to
host meetings or functions there.
If you haven’t been in please
call past and visit Louise and Larkia.
The apartments have
flown off the shelves with only a
few left to rent and some available
as investment opportunities. There
is also still limited commercial space
available. If you are considering
getting in on the action, don’t
hesitate.

A looming spec on
the horizon is the High Care facility
and Care Centre. These are
going to be among the next exciting
ventures undertaken by the Developers
and will prove that Garlington truly
sets itself apart. We are thrilled
at the prospect of being able to provide
an environment in which retirees can
enjoy themselves and be part of the
Garlington lifestyle while being safe
in the knowledge that assistance is
close at hand. These will be new concept
retirement and high care units which
we can’t wait to unveil. Anyone
interested in finding out more please
contact Alex at developers@garlingtonsalesandrentals.co.za.

Finally,
we hope to see you all at the Special
AGM on Tuesday – November 17th.
