Yoga @ Garlington

Khara-Jade Warren has been practising yoga for 10 years and has experienced and been trained in several different styles. Whilst living in the UK, she practised under Arun Eden-Lewis, an exceptional teacher who was trained by the world-renowned founder of Dynamic Yoga, Godfrey Devereux. The years she spent under his guidance as well as her brother being diagnosed with cancer in 2009, led her to exploring the healing potential of yogic practices and eventually to teaching. She is a Yoga Alliance Certified teacher, having completed her RYT 200 (Registered Yoga Teacher with 200 hours training) in October 2010 in London, under Dr Elena Voyce, another acclaimed international teacher known for her therapeutic focus.

Why Come To Yoga?

Everyone and anyone, of any body type or level of fitness can practice and benefit from yoga. More than just stretching, it is a practice capable of delivering a remarkable range of benefits including increased flexibility, improved muscle tone and strength and enhanced digestion and circulation. It is ideal for cross-training and injury rehabilitation and prevention. However, these physical benefits are not the primary goal of yoga. By aligning breath awareness, physical movement and mental focus in a yoga practice, the mind can also be transformed. Yoga has been demonstrated to help relieve depression and anxiety, improve sleep quality, lower stress levels and increase energy levels and concentration. In the increasingly demanding lifestyles that many of us lead, yoga is a way to regain and cultivate balance and tranquillity.

What Style of Yoga?

Dynamic Yoga combines precision and alignment in postures with fluidity and continuity of movement linking postures. This style of yoga promotes both cardiovascular and muscular stamina as well as flexibility developed gradually and safely. On a deeper level it cultivates sensitivity, equanimity and presence of mind resulting in a wonderful state of alert relaxation which with time and practice will begin to infuse other areas of your life. Relaxation and Meditation is also incorporated giving you the opportunity to explore the naturally tranquil state of the mind, uncovering an internal stability and ease that you can take with you into your day to day life.

Class Details

Group Class Times:

Saturdays - 8.45 to 10am

Class times are flexible and subject to change and can be altered where possible to meet your needs. Classes are kept small to ensure safety and effectiveness so advance booking is required.
Pregnancy, Post-Natal and Mama & Baba classes coming soon.

Class Price

Group classes: R70 per class or R300 for a 5-class bundle (valid for 8 weeks)
One-on-One rate: R180 per hour (available on request)
